Oh Tempranillo….
Hello, friends!
We’re excited to share a glimpse of what’s next at Caelestis Cellars: our 2023 Tempranillo, freshly bottled and set for release in June 2026.
This wine begins with a familiar story. The fruit hails from the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA, within the greater Walla Walla Valley—the same vineyard source and vintage behind our beloved 2023 Tempranillo Rosé. For those who fell in love with that wine, this is its deeper, more contemplative counterpart—a continuation of the same narrative, told through a different lens.
In the glass, the Tempranillo reveals a striking deep purple hue, hinting at the richness to come. The palate is layered yet restrained, with silky tannins that glide effortlessly and a thread of balanced acidity that keeps everything lifted and precise. It’s a wine that invites you in rather than overwhelms—thoughtful, grounded, and quietly expressive.
More than anything, this Tempranillo is about place and feeling. It evokes the rustic charm of the Spanish countryside: a sunlit afternoon, a worn wooden table, and a carefully assembled picnic. Imagine warm sourdough bread, thinly sliced jamón, creamy goat cheese, and a handful of fresh blueberries—simple, intentional, and deeply satisfying.
We can’t wait to share this wine with you in June. Until then, consider this your invitation to slow down, gather well, and savor what’s ahead.
